Riverside Drive - update

Further to my update in April about the proposals for the roadway, pavements and environmental improvements in Riverside Drive, the City Council has now advised as follows :

Riverside Drive (Tesco Roundabout to Barnetts) – Carriageway Resurface and Lane Re-arrangement

I wish to notify you that work is programmed to commence at the above location on Monday 11 August  2014, and will last for approximately 8 weeks.

The main contractor for the works is Tayside Contracts.

The Works will be carried out during the first 5 weeks with lane closures but maintaining two-way traffic.    From the 14 September there will be 2 weeks of night closures with the carriageway being available for two-way traffic through the day. This will be followed by a further week of lane closures with two-way traffic being maintained.

The night time road closures are being implemented in the interest of public safety for the 2 weeks from the 14 September. Through traffic will be diverted via Perth Road, Hawkhill, West Marketgait and Riverside Drive, and reverse, for these 2 weeks.

Please accept my apologies for any disruption these works may cause. I am sure that you will understand that major road maintenance work is unavoidable and necessitates a degree of inconvenience to road users.

Please note that pedestrian thoroughfare will be maintained throughout the works.
