Getting things done - Rockfield Crescent #dundeewestend

As residents will recall, we have long campaigned to see improvements of the road surface in Rockfield Crescent, which has long been in a very poor state.

We were pleased when the roads maintenance partnership gave a commitment to resurface the road this financial year.

Michael is pictured during the works which have resulted in a much better road surface.

Getting things done - Rockfield Crescent #dundeewestend

We have long campaigned for resurfacing of the road in Rockfield Crescent and were previously advised by the City Council at the start of 2022 :

"Rockfield Crescent is provisionally included in the 2022/2023 Carriageway Resurfacing Programme (Marchfield Crescent to Hyndford Street)."

We sought an update recently as the 2022/23 financial year draws to a close and the Senior Engineer - Roads Maintenance Partnership has now updated us as follows :

"I can confirm that unfortunately Rockfield Crescent is one of 20 carriageway schemes that are being deferred to the new financial year. T  his has been due in the main to the vast increase in bitumen prices which has curtailed our works programme.

The works deferred from this year will be programmed as early as possible in the new financial year."

We have asked to be kept updated as we are anxious to see this resurfacing take place as soon as possible.

Getting things done - Rockfield Crescent #dundeewestend

I recently received residents' complaints about some potholes on the road surface of Rockfield Crescent.

I raised this with the City Council's Roads Maintenance Partnership and have had the following helpful feedback :

"An order has been raised for the repair of two potholes."

Residents recently contacted me concerned about the poor state of the road in Rockfield Crescent.

I raised this with the council's Roads Maintenance Partnership and have received the following positive response :

"The Road Maintenance Partnership inspector raised an order on 12-2-19 for pothole repairs to be carried out with a timescale for repair of approximately thirty days."

Getting things done ... Rockfield Crescent and Corso Street

Following complaints from local residents about the state of the road surface in Rockfield Crescent, I contacted the City Council's Road Maintenance Partnership about this and have been advised as follows:

"An order is to be raised by the Road Maintenance Partnership inspector for the repair of approximately twelve potholes in Rockfield Crescent with a timescale for repair of twenty eight days or sooner."

At a recent meeting I had with sheltered tenants, I also received complaints about a hole in the road in Corso Street, near to its junction with Peddie Street.   The City Council's Road Maintenance Partnership has promised to repair this too, in the very near future.
