Drawing on the University’s outstanding collection of nearly 300 works by the extraordinary artist, poet and gardener Ian Hamilton Finlay, the current exhibition in the Tower Foyer Gallery, Ian Hamilton Finlay: Works on Paper, draws you into an enticing but dangerous world of prints and poems, sails and sundials, gardens and guillotines.

There are special events coming up to accompany the show:

Tuesday 18th November at 5.30pm – we’re delighted to be one of the first venues to screen a new film about Finlay, The Boat in the Writing Room, and to be joined by its makers, Alastair Peebles and Michael Lloyd, for discussion afterwards - see more at www.dundee.ac.uk/events/boat-writing-room-ian-hamilton-finlay-film-screening

Wednesday 26th November at 5.30pm - Poem/Print creative workshop, in which participants will create their own pieces of visual poetry or typographical art, using a variety of materials including typeface printing blocks and collage. – see more at www.dundee.ac.uk/events/poem-print-creative-workshop

West End Local Community Planning Partnership Café Conversation #dundeewestend

The next West End LCPP meeting is on Thursday 20th November from 9.30am  until 11am at The Friary in Tullideph Road.

Working with What Matters to You this will be the first Café Conversation in the West End.

The LCCP Chair said :

"These sessions have been held in other parts of Dundee and offer a relaxed space for community members, practitioners, and strategic leaders to come together. The aim is to talk about what’s working well, what could be better, and how we can improve things together.

We’re encouraging people to share real experiences. We’ll spend time listening, identifying key issues, and exploring practical solutions.

We hope this will be a great chance for people to connect, understand each other better, and find ways to support one another. The Café Conversation format ensures everyone’s voice is heard and helps us agree on actions to take forward."
