Fraser has been LibDem Councillor for the West End on Dundee City Council since 2001 and has topped the poll in all of the five council elections he has contested. He has served as the Council’s Education Convener, Finance Convener and Planning and Transport Convener. Fraser was appointed a Bailie by the City Council in 2017, in recognition of his 16 years of service to constituents.
Further to my update in February about my suggestions to the City Council about improving road safety outside the Perth Road Harris Academy site, I am pleased to report that the road lining improvements I asked for were put in place a few weeks ago. On the need for a 20mph speed limit request during the construction period, I received this today from the City Council's Head of Transportation:
"I can now confirm the advisory 'Max speed 20' traffic signs are now in place in both directions of the Perth Road near Harris Academy as well as on the West Park Road approach to Perth Road.
Unfortunately the placement of these traffic signs took longer than was anticipated.
We will arrange to continue to monitor this location for traffic movement."
