Spirit of the Dighty and latest from Friends of Wighton ...

"Spirit of the Dighty" is a site specific entertainment launched to great acclaim over the Halloween weekend: the remaining performances are on 6th and 7th November, 3pm - 4.30pm.  Meet at Mains Castle car park (Caird Park) at 2.45pm - outdoor clothing required.    The tickets are £5 and £3.

Forthcoming Friends of Wighton events in the Wighton Heritage Centre, Central Library, Dundee :

Quick reminder that there is no Lunchtime Recital on Wednesday 3rd November (managed to get Aileen Carr at half term last week!)

The next Lunchtime Recital is on Wednesday 1st December and will feature The Wighton Singers, our wonderful group of singers who meet on Tuesdays at 2pm in the Wighton Heritage Centre.

On Saturday 20th November - doors open 10.30am, concert starts at 11am - we have a Cappuccino Concert with the Ideal Band who are Ken Campbell on vocals, guitar, laud, northumbrian pipes, Linsey Aitken on cello, recorders, vocals and Gavin Paterson on piano, guitar, mandolin, vocals ( "A simply beautiful sound, each song an absolute gem" - Maverick) Tickets (includes coffee and biscuits) £5, at the door -someone remind me to organise some proper cups, please!

AND on Saturday 4th December - doors open 10.30a.m, concert starts at 11 - we have the last Cappuccino Concert of 2010 starring our own Karen Hannah, fiddle, and Alan Small, accordion. This dynamic duo are much in demand around Scotland and beyond and are a treat to hear!

Also, the Gaelic song class meets this Saturday 6th at 10am, and on the 20th at 9.30am. Fiddle class is still 11am-12.30pm, whistle 12.30pm- 2pm, and medieval harp 2pm-3.30pm and the Christmas party/session for all class participants, Friends and well-wishers is on the 11th December.
