Blackness Road - resurfacing works delayed

Further to my article last Saturday about impending road resurfacing works on part of Blackness Road (from Forest Park Road to Glenagnes Road), the City Council has now advised me :

"Following discussion with the Project Architect for the new primary schools that are being built on Blackness Road, we have decided to postpone our surfacing works until after all utilities are in place and the extents of the streetworks that are requried as part of the schools development are defined and the effect on the road is clarified."

It makes sense to leave resurfacing until after utilities' works are all complete but I sought clarity as to when the work will now be carried out.    I have been updated as follows :

"I have agreed with the Architect that we will resurface after utility works are complete but before the anti-skid and school keep clears, etc, are installed.

Probable that works will be carried out late July or August next year as schools are planned to open after October Holidays."
