Another band concert this Sunday! #dundeewestend

It is great to see another band concert on the Magdalen Green Bandstand taking place this Sunday - 3rd August - at 2pm.

Performers are the superb Louisiana Fairytale Riverboat Jazz Band who will also have a concert on 31st August.

Many thanks go to the Friends of Magdalen Green who undertook all the necessary licensing permissions for additional band concerts this year - something the council used to do but sadly walked away from.

There will also be concerts from the Forfar Instrumental Band during August on the bandstand as well.

Scottish and Southern Energy Networks Elmwood Cable Renewal Scheme - temporary traffic lights and road closure from Tuesday 4 March for 19 weeks:

• Ancrum Road (at Peel Street) – temporary traffic lights for 3 weeks;

• Tullideph Road (City Road to Greenbank Place) – closed westbound for 2 weeks

Riverside Avenue – road closed from its junction with Kingsway/Swallow Roundabout for a distance of 500m in a south westerly direction to its junction with Apollo Way.  Closed for 5 evenings between 7.00pm and 7.00am commencing Monday 21 July for carriageway resurfacing works.

City Road (at Friary Gardens) – temporary traffic lights on Monday 28 July (9.00am to midnight) for Scottish Water work.

Getting things done - City Road/Tullideph Road #dundeewestend

Residents have highlighted to us regular flooding at the City Road/Tullideph Road junction next to the Morrisons Daily store - see photo.

We have raised this with the Roads Maintenance Partnership to ensure that the roads drainage is checked and is operating properly and were assured the street drainage would be cleared out.

Electoral register update

The City Council's electoral registration team is getting in touch with every household to check that the electoral register is up to date, and to identify any residents who should be registered but are currently missing.

When responding, please remember, to include 14 and 15 years olds in the return as once they turn 16 they will be eligible to vote in the Scottish Parliament elections taking place next year.

Getting things done - Hillside Place #dundeewestend

We recently received concerns about the deteriorated state of the road surface in Hillside Place.

We raised this with the roads maintenance partnership and were promised repairs.

However, given the extremely poor road condition, we asked about the possibility of future resurfacing and were advised as follows :

"Hillside Place did not make it into this year’s list for resurfacing work, but it will be scored again this year for possible inclusion in next year’s list."
