We had an excellent meeting last Thursday evening of the Friends of Magdalen Green (FoMG) committee, with a good discussion of how the Friends can assist with further repairs to the bandstand - particularly a re-paint (a complex and expensive task on this listed structure) - and improved lighting on the Green.

And ... talking of the Green ... last week saw the installation of 12 new litter bins. I rather felt I was becoming a serial complainer to the City Council about the lack of litter bins on the Green, and I am very grateful to the Director of Leisure & Communities for his willingness to provide additional bins. I'd still like to see a couple of really large ones with lids near the BBQ area, but getting another dozen bins is to be really welcomed.
